DESCRIPTION
The Vietnam Petroleum Corporation (PetroVietnam) and Malaysia’s Nacap Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd company signed in Hanoi
Sept. 27 an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Phu My-Ho Chi Minh City gas pipe system
project.
The Phu My-HCM City gas pipeline will bring gas from the offshore Cuu Long and Nam Con Son fields to power plants in Hiep
Phuoc industrial zone (IZ) in Ho Chi Minh City and Nhon Trach IZ in Dong Nai province.
The pipeline, which will have a diameter of 22 inches and a length of 40 km, will run through marsh and mangrove forests and
across rivers in three southern cities and provinces namely Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City. It has a
designed capacity of 2 billion cu.m of gas per year.
